but using official wallet for tipping is much better place and idea as well instead i hold someone's funds and if you like then you can keep telegram bot as you are having right now because then we will have 2 different bots works with different techniques so any memeber can use any which ever they feel comfort or secure with

Jeevanjot
16:36:45

either donate on discord (using official wallet) or telegram(more comfort)

Punqtured

That's a very solid point, that the Discord tipping bot allows users to send tips without having to trust an escrow.

Jeevanjot
17:23:26

that was the idea from beginning unless cryptokeeper told about that (which i personally like it) but why not take advantage of obyte wallet if we can

Jeevanjot
17:27:20

I don't like copying ideas so with bitshares beet i did same thing (using beet) i make tip bot for bitshares which is open source and so is of obyte discord bot code.

Punqtured
17:29:10

Brillant! Open source is the way to go. It also allows others to potentially contribute in the future.

Jeevanjot

i messed up with old repos of it so made new one

Punqtured

😂

That's the major downside to FOSS. Adding is easy but cleaning up, refactoring and breaking backward compatibility is almost impossible. Rust actually managed to do it for Rust2.0 though.

Punqtured
17:31:47

But that's a super rare exception to the common practice

Jeevanjot
17:34:42

Oh that's good to know, I actually don't use RUST, i work with javascript

Punqtured
18:1:38

JavaScript with NodeJS and ReactJS in particular will be in super high demand for quite a long time. It's a super efficient language for some things (slow on processing, though) but for event-driven applications requiring fast handling of massive amounts of events, I think it'll be hard to find more commonly used alternatives

Punqtured
18:3:23

NodeJS has a lot of odd quirks, too. Like iterating over arrays. If you use for each, it will unroll the entire array in memory causing it to hit the 1.2 GB limit rather fast for large datasets. But if you iterate using while-loop, it becomes super fast and hardly has any memory footprint.

There are a few new applications up on PolloPollo. A donation of $17 worth of bytes through the PolloPollo platform will enable one of the families to spend their own scarce money on food for themselves and their family instead of their laying hens. One 40kg bag of chicken food will sustain 10-12 chickens for roughly 1 month. It is also a chance to get a glimpse of the slightly improved donation process of the PolloPollo chat bot, which the ITU students have been working on improving. To make an actual difference to other people's lives, please consider filling one of the applications athttps://pollopollo.org

On the#pollopollochannel on Discord, there are also pictures from past donations as well as news and announcement as further improvements to the platform is being deployed.

I just realized, that the PolloPollo platform has just passed its 100th donation with the last one. So we should have celebrated the anniversary but I missed the opportunity. Either way, since the launch, exactly 100 donations have been carried out and a total of $845 has been helping people in need. I hope everyone will keep up the supportive comments and of course that you will help us further increase the awareness of this revolutionary approach to charitable donation.

Absolutely! But I only just realized :D

If you see the attention that a BTC/ETH/LTC/NANO bird feeder contraption is getting, I think this use case provides far greater impact than that ;)

@NexTzyou clearly do not understand the charity model Obyte offers. It is P2P all the way!

In General, if someone is taking profits from the donation in the way@Punqtureddescribed, then this has a positive impact of course, because it helps the bring back the ecosystem. At the meantime, they test the water with a new currency. All in all it’s a nice system!

Yup

Punqtured
15:28:28

Indeed, the current system is far from optimal with the hassle of fiat on/off-ramp at both ends. However, the far more important thing is to prove that a trustless system might very well provide solutions to existing charity organisations and NGOs fighting corruption and embezzlement.

Punqtured

Even with strict checks, a local NGO and expensive control and administrations, things like this happen:https://www.kiva.org/about/where-kiva-works/partners/272

Ah, it requires login

A kiva partner called Motorbank Kenya defaulted all outstanding loans and vanished into thin air.
